handcrafted furniture, kitchens & baths

look what's new!

Welcome to fineartistmade.com the website of husband and wife design/build team of Patrick Mealey and Joyce Jackson. We are both working artists with a love of old homes, who fashion one-of- a-kind, quality furniture, kitchens & baths. Our background in fine arts and our interest in history enhance and inform everything we do.

After many years restoring homes in the Hamptons - we made a move to a farm in Downeast Maine. Our home's restoration has been featured on the HGTV show, If Walls Could Talk and Old-House Interiors magazine.

In 2009, we launched a furniture collection, The Tradition of the New - unique designs - a synthesis of folk art, antiques and contemporary living. Our pieces are handcrafted in our Perry workshop on Boyden Lake with wood harvested from sustainable forests - finished with environmentally friendly paint.

This summer, we created a line of gift boxes that our now available on our website and Etsy store.  For the decoration of the boxes - we put a contemporary twist on an early American stencil technique.

Check out our press page to see blog mentions and articles featuring our renovations.  We were recently featured in Old House Journal magazine’s Special Fall Issue: Creating beautiful vintage baths.  The article, “Baths Made Simple” explores our restoration philosophy using two projects: a stately Victorian mansion and country farmhouse.
