Welcome to fineartistmade - the husband and wife design/build team of Patrick Mealey & Joyce Jackson who fashion one-of- a-kind, quality furniture, kitchens, and baths.

We are both artists with a love of old homes. Patrick a painter, Joyce a photographer. Our background in fine arts and our interest in history enhance and inform everything we do. After many years in the Hamptons restoring homes - we made a move to a farm in Downeast Maine. Our home was recently featured in Old-House Interiors magazine, as well as a kitchen and baths renovation in nearby Eastport.

Last year we launched a handcrafted furniture collection. The Tradition of the New – unique designs - a synthesis of folk art, antiques, our personal aesthetic and contemporary living. Crafted in our Downeast workshop from wood harvested from sustainable forests and finished with environmentally-friendly paint. With this venture, we join a long-standing tradition – Maine's cottage industry.

This spring saw the introduction of our new line of unique gift items and a blog. The fineartistmade blog is a way for folks to follow our renovation projects, and also see our furniture and gift offerings as they 'go live'. Design ideas and inspirations, Maine discoveries, as well as stories in and around our house and business will be shared. Please take a look!
