custom furniture, kitchens, and baths by fineartistmade

our restoration

We have completed an extensive restoration on our own home - creating our ideal, 1930's era pantry, kitchen and bathroom. Upstairs, from three former bedrooms, we've assembled his and hers studios, where we pursue our art.

Golding House c.1910

Our restoration philosophy; do as little damage as possible to the original fabric of the home.  Recreate important elements that have been lost .  Make improvements that reflect and respect the home's 120-year history.

Each room encompasses a spare balance between old and new. Our decoration philosophy is simple; surround ourselves with the things that we love.

We have been fortunate to gather volumes of material connected to our home (photos, documents, letters, personal objects, etc.) from many sources, including Golding descendents and friends. We never anticipated what could be produced by simple inquiries - or the friends that we would make along the way.
